Office Labs: Productivity Vision Video

Microsoft’s long-term productivity vision explores how we will create and share content; collaborate across teams, organizations and networks; and how we will gain contextually relevant and anticipative insights based on preferences and intent. All these scenarios are showcasing real, emerging technologies explored with various Microsoft product and research teams as well as at Microsoft partners and across the industry.

    Future = OpenSource.
    Microsoft != OpenSource.
    Microsoft != Future.

    I love new technologies, but that vision scares me

    Wow, I can’t wait! It’s unbelievable how many new ideas they have come up. Hopefully in some 10 years or something it will be possible…

    It’s funny that Microsoft came up with those videos and not someone else like Apple. It just doesn’t make sense. Microsoft would never do UI like those simply because it is too simple. Not enough customization. It just doesn’t fit their style!

    This video is getting old… can you actually make it happen or is this re-post just a way of saying: “Nah it will be for 2029 instead of 2019″?

    Anyway, I would love if this kind of stuff came true.

    think about this. 40 years ago we barely were able to fly the skies
    and 20 years ago computers were barely existent.
    but look at it now.
    and 5 years ago 52″ thin LCD screens were a thing of the future, but it is present.
    engineers all over are looking for inspiration and this video is what inspires great ideas.
    i believe that something close WILL happen within this century for sure.

    Well by the time “that” shows up touch will be so common place. People probably would have ever thought the iPod Touch or Phone could ever be possible 20 years ago and here we are with that techonology. Cameras on phones, antennas no longer on phone. People are a lot more tech savy than they use to be. With google and facebook and internet at our fingertips, people will learn like they learn everything else. People adapt like everything else.

    Im definetely a Microsoft fanboy. All the way. I don’t see this as any near future, nor any of those things user friendly. It’d be very hard to learn all that. It looks cool, but can you realistically see the average not so tech-saavy person using that?
